Did you ever stop to think that the design of your web site could be hindering your Search Engine Optimisaton campaign?

Search Engines have to read the content of your web pages to help them get indexed, so if your site consists of invalid CSS or HTML markup then you could run into problems.

Sites driven by CSS usually have light web pages, that is the CSS styles are held in an external file.  This means that the web pages load quickly and Google likes quick pages!

Website code should be as clean as possible.   Many Web Designers are stuck using old techniques and this can involve heavy use of unneccesary tags or tables.   Newer layer based techniques can help the pages load much more quickly and also help with usability and accessibility which is a must in a modern day web site.

Your web site should always be checked for W3C validation to ensure that it complies with web standards.  If it doesn’t then Google might not be able to access certain areas of the page when crawling, which means you could have content on your page that is effectively invisible.

You can check the W3C status of your web site by visiting http://validator.w3.org/ or contact us for an SEO web site review.
